This is a Marklin 29490 Digital Pennsylvania “American“ Electric Starter Set with Sounds. Included is a Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) Type GG-1 Heavy General-Purpose Electric Locomotive with “Loewy“ design in “Brunswick Green“, version from the Fifties. There are seven different freight cars consisting of: 3 tank cars, 2 hopper cars, 2 single door boxcars, and a Pennsylvania Railroad caboose as well. The track layout consists of: (14) no. 24130 curved track, (8) no. 24188 straight track, (11) no. 24172 straight track, (1) no. 24088 feeder track, (1) pair of 24671 and 24672 curved turnouts, (1) no. 24612 right turnout, (1) no. 24224 curved track, (1) no. 24977 track bumper, a 230 volt / 60 VA Transformer, and a Mobile Station. The locomotive features an mfx digital decoder, controlled high-efficiency propulsion, a sound effects generator with many sound functions, a powerful can motor with bell-shaped armature centrally mounted, 4 axles powered in the two power trucks, traction tires, articulated running gear with 2 power trucks and 2 pilot trucks, headlights are maintenance-free LED‘s, and the headlights and interior lighting will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The long distance lights, cab lighting, electric locomotive operating sounds, as well as the acceleration and braking delay can be controlled with the 6021 Control Unit or with MÄrklin Systems. Additional operating sounds can be controlled with MÄrklin Systems: bell, horn, pantographs being raised, and blower motors. The locomotive has large American design pantographs and the total train length is: 58-1/8“. The set comes with an illustrated instruction book with many tips and ideas and can be expanded with the C Track extension sets and entire C Track program. The 74490 electric turnout mechanism can be installed in the turnouts as well.
