"He had six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome." Thomas the Tank Engine made his first appearance in 1946, gracing the pages of Reverend Awdry's books. His popularity jumped in 1984 courtesy of Britt Allcroft, bringing the little engine to life on TV. American audiences met Thomas in 1989 on Shining Time Station, with Mr. Conductor played by none other than Ringo Starr.
Since then it's been a parade of books, shows, movies, and toys bringing Thomas, his coaches Annie and Clarabel, Gordon, Edward, James, Percy, Diesel, Henry, Duck, Toby, and all of his other friends to the world. We carry Thomas toys in wooden sets and scale model trains.
