Lewes Junction Railroad & Bridge Association

No, Trainz didn't buy a real locomotive. However, we did donate a wonderful Key Imports HO scale brass PRR B6sa to the Lewes Junction Railroad & Bridge Association. They are working on a cosmetic restoration of Pennsylvania Railroad #60, and we happened to have its exact copy down to the cab number in HO scale.

The B6sa is unique from earlier models in that it features a round top firebox, instead of PRR's usual Belpaire. The Stephenson valve gear of the earlier B6 and B6s design was replaced with Walschaerts valve gear. Like the B6s, the B6sa was built with superheating from the start, compared to the B6 and its less powerful (but easier to maintain) saturated steam boiler.

A total of 55 B6sa locomotives were built by PRR at Altoona between 1913 and 1914. In time, the B6sa and later B6sb models were upgraded with a power reverser, to make switching moves easier on the engineer.

Lewes Junction is happily accepting donations to help with the restoration of #60. You can visit their site by clicking below and help fund their work.
