This is Kato 106-6282 N Amtrak Intercity Express 3-Car Add-On Set. Modeling the shorter distance (and northeast corridor) Intercity passenger cars - the Amfleet II and Viewliner sleeper, respectively - these cars are decorated in Amtrak's most current paint scheme: the Phase VI (also known as IVb), which marries modern aesthetic simplicity with the traditional Amtrak red, white, and blue stripes.
This is a bookcase-style car set containing three individual cars, with the capacity to hold a mix of up to four additional cars or locomotives (7 spaces in total). Modelers can choose to use the extra space to store the contents of the P42 Amfleet Viewliner Intercity Express Starter Series set, or a selection of individually released coaches and sleepers.
