Here is a Van Hobbies HO BRASS CNR 2-8-0 N5d Consol. Steam Loco/Tender - Unpainted. The locomotive features brass construction, metal wheels, knuckle coupler and a motor. Please see my pictures for additional features.
Introduced as a relative 'Late-comer" to the industry the 2-8-0 would quickly rise to popularity as a freight hauler the late 19th and early 20th century with its use spanning from the US to Europe. Hailed for its versatility during its run, the 2-8-0 would serve as a heavy freight hauler for various rail-ways before eventually seeing its use wind down starting in 1915. With a handful now in museums, there is still one model still operating in Pennsylvania today!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The front light piece on the locomotive is slightly crooked and coming loose. There is solder in some of the joints. There are spots of discoloration and dirt residue throughout the shell of the locomotive & tender. Some of the hand rails are slightly warped. There is wear on the wheels from previous use. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Very Good.
